Dear Friends of Mission MANNA,
Many of you know of Mission MANNA’s commitment to providing healthcare to children in the area of Montrouis, Haiti. For those who are not familiar, we are an Asheville-based, grass roots organization that for many years has sent medical teams to Haiti to serve thousands of children.
We have recently embarked on an ambitious project involving hiring healthcare agents to go out into the community to provide nutrition directly to Haitian families. So far this program has seen measurable success and we are expecting even more positive results in the future.
Last year, many generous businesses in the community stepped up to show their support for our first annual Wine Tasting Gala. Local business from all over Asheville offered food, beverages and silent auction items. Local talent provided music. It was incredible to see the number of people who came, enjoyed the wonderful ambiance of Wright Creative Studio in West Asheville and generously bid on goods and services.
This year, our Wine Tasting Gala will be held in the Spring of 2009 at the YMI cultural center. (The date is to be determined.) The event will feature a photographic gallery of the beautiful Haitian people and culture, lots of hors d'oeuvres provided by local restaurants and of course, select wines to enjoy. There will be a silent auction of goods, services and many pieces of Haitian art.
Will you support Mission MANNA by donating either food or silent auction items? We appreciate all of our local businesses. That is what makes Asheville a great community! You can reach Laurie Towers, Mission MANNA’s Event Coordinator, at (828) 230-0593 or latowers@charter.net to discuss specific donations.
Thank you for your continued support of Mission Manna and the children of Haiti.
Your Friends at Mission Manna
