The Mission Manna buck has arrived in Fond Baptiste. He is a Nubian-Boer cross of American descent who born and raised in Gressier, Haiti. We will breed this buck with our Haitian does, combining their gene pools to create larger offspring (who will produce more milk and meat) while maintaining the local adaptations to the Haitian climate and geography.
When the females bear offspring, the families who are enrolled in Mission Manna’s Sustainable Nutrition Project will be able to keep all but one of the goats. One female goat will be given back to Mission Manna and that goat will be introduced to a new family, who will be enrolled and trained.
In this manner, the Sustainable Nutrition Project will quickly flourish, providing a reliable source of nutrition (and income) to families in the Montrouis zone.
